Hey guys!. In this post, I’ll be discussing a list of Top 7 Best Shows Like Game of Thrones. The first episode of HBO's Game of Thrones aired more than ten years ago, and whether you liked it or not, it's undeniably one of the most popular shows on TV. 

House of the Dragon, the series's prequel,  is already in the works. Here are some best mystical fantasy-filled series for you to explore until the prequel arrives on your streaming service! Now let's get started!

7. The Wheel of Time. 

This Amazon series aspires to be the next Game of Thrones. The Wheel of Time is based on a novel series from the 90s. It follows four young people on a voyage throughout the world with Moraine, a woman of magic, and her protector al'Lan Mandragoran. 

Moraine believes that one of the four is the Dragon, a powerful sorcerer doomed to save or destroy the world. 

6. Shadow and Bone. 

Another Netflix attempt to emulate G O T is also based on a famous novel. The series takes us to Tsarist Russia and adds X-Men style superpower, in a world where dark forces have gained control. 

The series follows Alina Starkov, a mapmaker who discovers her power accidentally, her power could influence the course of the war, as she is the only one who can battle and defend her country from the monsters of the Fold. 

5. His Dark Materials. 

This BBC series set in the medieval period is also based on a famous book series, but it is aimed at youngsters. 

The series follows Lyra as she searches for her missing friend, which leads her to a sinister plot involving kidnapping children, which sends her on a journey to learn more about a mysterious phenomenon known as Dust. 

4. The Witcher. 

This Netflix series, based on a book and a famous video game, follows monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, whose fate is linked to the sorceress Yennefer and princess Ciri. 

The plot revolves around magic, knights, and monsters. The Witcher has been compared to Game of Thrones, and the parallels are evident, but this isn't Netflix's first try. 

3. Outlander. 

This fictitious drama is based on the same-named novel series. 

Claire Randall, a married military nurse in Scotland during World War II, is unexpectedly taken back in time to 1743, where she falls in love with a Scottish warrior, Jamie Fraser, setting the stage for a time-bending storyline in this sizzling romance and battle-filled series. 

2. The Last Kingdom. 

This BBC series is based on a novel "The Saxon Stories," which follows Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a Saxon warrior who is enslaved by Vikings during their colonization of England. 

When Uhtred returns to his hometown, he encounters an existential dilemma that puts his loyalty to the test. The series is a mash-up of politics, family, and war, and it's thrilling from the start. 

1. Vikings. 

Following the story of Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking farmer who rose to become one of the most renowned Vikings of all time. This series is based on actual true events and then shifts its focus more on Ragnar's sons, Ivar, Bjorn, and his other sons. 

Like G O T, Vikings is an epic that revels in power battles, war, family, and politics. This series is great for anybody who likes action-packed fight sequences.
