Top 10 Best Games with Character Creation

games with character creation

Hey guys!. In this post, I’ll be discussing a list of Top 10 Best Games with Character Creation. While sometimes it’s better to have a pre-made character with a defined personality, backstory, and all that jazz, don’t you think that creating your very own, custom hero makes the game a lot more immersive?

Take a look at our selection of video games that let you shape and dress your character in the most satisfying way! This time we’ll talk about the games with the best character creation and customization. So let’s get started.

1. The Sims 4

Let’s get the most obvious game out of the way. This, probably the most recognizable, life simulation series is famous for its robust character creation tool, continuously expanding from one entry to another. Now, in Sims 4, not only can you shape your Sim to look exactly like you but you can also bless him with the most annoying traits of your personality.

Then, once you’re finished, you can proudly watch your tiny sim turning a peaceful neighborhood into a warzone. Good times!

2. Cyberpunk 2077

We’ve waited years and then it finally came… and the reactions were mixed. Some gamers liked it, some not so much, and some of them clearly need to have their Internet cable cut off or change their hobby to finally stop complaining.

But back to the topic, you can say all that you want about the game itself, but the character creator here is tight, with a plethora of options and sliders. Too bad that Cyberpunk 2077 is a game with a first-person perspective and you cannot look at yourself all that often.

3. Dragon's Dogma

In this game, creating your character is that much more interesting as it actually affects the gameplay. Make yourself super tiny to fit in small places, run faster and be harder to hit. Or make yourself HUUUGE to be able to climb higher ledges, and be harder to knock over.

It’s all about experimentation and making your physique fit your gameplay style. Also, a friendly tip, don’t worry all that much, go wild with the creator! You’ll be able to edit your character later in the game!

4. Animal Crossing: New Horizons

While Animal Crossing is pretty limited when it comes to creating your character. As you can see the models are not that detailed – it’s huge on customization. Man, there are so many clothes and accessories here that your head just won’t stop spinning.

You can mix and match tons of clothes, dye them, make your very own custom patterns and images and put them on your t-shirts, hats and whatnot. And then the Able Sisters arrive and open up their store with a shiny new offer every day! The customization fever never ends!

5. Monster Hunter: World & Monster Hunter Rise

The game’s about hunting with style! First, you create your hunter, and as you can imagine there are sliders aplenty! Then you go hunting, you kill them big screeching bastards and make yourself hats and boots out of their dead bodies! Sounds like fun?

There’s more – later in the game when you unlock transmogrification, you won’t have to worry about wearing ugly armor just for stats. It’ll be more about looking as dope as possible when waving your hammer or doing those impossible insect glaive stunts!

6. Bloodborne

Out of all the Soulsborne games, this one is tailor-made to please all the fashion lovers. In Bloodborne, most of the armor has similar stats, so you can just wear whatever you like the best, and look sharp like hell when hacking your way through all the Yharnam hostile folk and other nightmare fuel creatures.

Also, the character creator itself is pretty fun and came a long way since Dark Souls 1. No wonder it’s the most popular game on the fashion souls subreddit.

7. XCOM 2

Why limit yourself to just one character when you can create and customize the whole squad? In this fan-beloved strategy game, not only you can decide about the physique and clothes for your soldiers, you can go one step further and write a detailed backstory for each of them.

But we warned though, that will make you more attached to your little soldiers, and most likely… THEY WILL DIE. We’re talking about being all fair and square, no save scumming.

8. Soulcalibur VI

Looking for a fighting game with an advanced character creator? Try the latest Soul Calibur. In here, if you don’t like the looks of the main characters, you can just copy their move sets and apply them to your fresh, custom-made heroes. And as you can imagine with an online game with a creator as complex as this one, things can go a little south.

9. Saints Row: The Third & Saints Row IV

Let’s be honest – 4 is basically 3 with a different skin. It was initially planned as a DLC but grew up so big that it became a sequel. It has aliens, superpowers, and all but it’s still the same streets of Steelport you’ll be driving (or flying) around. We can treat those two as a one game.

All that aside, the character creator lets you go wild when making your Boss or The President, depending on which Saints Row you choose. Get ready to spend some quality time with body sliders, and some additional feats like taunts, compliments, and more!

10. Black Desert Online

Remember when Black Desert’s character creation tool was teased and it looked impossibly good? Well, it surely lived up to the hype! Just get the game and try it, or watch a couple of videos, there is a slider for practically EVERYTHING!

If you’re one of those people who would spend hours on creating your new avatar This game is just for you. I mean the actual gameplay is fun too, but this creation tool? Amazing!

Did you like it? Would you like to add some more titles or maybe even share some of your video game characters?
